MISSION
At Migrant Connect SG, our mission is to empower individuals and strengthen communities through safety awareness, skills development, and meaningful social engagement.
We create structured opportunities where migrants and locals can learn, interact, and grow together—through training programmes, volunteering, and community initiatives. Our focus goes beyond connection; we aim to build a community that is skilled, responsible, and confident to contribute positively to society.
Through continuous engagement, we support individuals in developing practical life skills, workplace readiness, and social awareness, enabling them to integrate effectively and participate actively in Singapore’s community. 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗱

Migrant Connect SG is a volunteer-driven, ground-up community initiative in Singapore that brings together migrants and locals through education, safety programmes, cultural exchange, and meaningful community engagement.
Our journey began in 2010, when together with friends and newly arrived migrants from different countries, we started a small initiative called Migrant Welfare. Our goal was simple:
👉 To provide free support, free information, and real human connection.
In 2014, this initiative evolved into Migrant Matters, and today, it has grown into Migrant Connect SG—a structured platform focused on empowering individuals and strengthening communities.
We provide a free and inclusive platform where migrants can:
Access guidance and peer support
Participate in training and development programmes
Showcase talents in music, dance, and traditional cultural activities
Receive basic social support, counselling, and advocacy
Engage in volunteering and community initiatives
We focus on building a resilient and well-integrated community through:
🤝 Community & Collaboration
🩸 Humanitarian & Health Action
🪔 Cultural & Social Exchange
🦺 Safety & Awareness
🌱 Volunteer & Leadership Development
We actively collaborate with organizations such as the Singapore Red Cross, Singapore Civil Defence Force, and National Environment Agency to deliver structured programmes that combine:
Training
Real-world application
Volunteer opportunities
At our core, we believe in:
Building People → Strengthening Communities → Creating Long-Term Impact
Our initiatives are designed to create measurable, practical, and sustained outcomes:
250–300 individuals reached through education and training programmes
350+ participants engaged through community events and activities
220+ individuals trained in first aid, CPR-AED, fire safety, and emergency response
Clear pathways for participants to apply skills through volunteer programmes
150+ learners trained in digital skills, English, and workplace literacy
Improved communication, employability, and workplace integration
70–90 blood donations supported, contributing to Singapore’s healthcare system
Strong partnerships with national organizations
Increased volunteer participation and civic engagement
Reduced social isolation and stronger peer support networks
Our model is built on a continuous development cycle:
This ensures individuals:
Apply skills in real-life situations
Gain confidence through experience
Contribute back to the community
Inspire and guide others
We believe real impact is not created through one-time efforts, but through consistency, structure, and trust.
We are committed to building a community that is:
Prepared in times of need
Responsible in everyday life
Connected across cultures
Capable of creating positive change
Migrant Connect SG is driven by people and powered by volunteers. We believe meaningful impact comes from working together.
We are committed to:
Supporting our volunteers
Turning ideas into action
Creating opportunities for contribution
👉 Your involvement is not just welcomed—it is essential to our collective success.
At Migrant Connect SG, we believe strong communities are built through simple, meaningful actions.
We bring migrants and locals together through volunteering, shared learning, and cultural exchange—creating natural opportunities to connect, collaborate, and understand one another. Our approach is practical, inclusive, and community-led, focusing on real participation and impact.
We partner with local communities, volunteer groups, and agencies to organise outreach programmes, clean-up initiatives, and community activities—bringing people together through shared responsibility and purpose.
We promote a culture of care through blood donation drives, first aid awareness, CPR-AED participation, and health-related initiatives—encouraging life-saving actions within the community.
We create safe, welcoming spaces for people to connect and support one another through sports, group activities, social events, and informal gatherings—helping reduce isolation and strengthen mental well-being.
We provide free programmes in English, digital skills, and workplace readiness, alongside life-saving skills such as first aid and emergency response. We also offer informal career guidance to support confidence and long-term development.
We celebrate diversity through cultural performances, traditional activities, music, sports, and community events—using shared experiences to build understanding and unity.
We promote everyday safety through practical training, talks, and awareness sessions—ensuring knowledge is accessible, relevant, and applicable in real-life situations.
We empower individuals to take initiative, lead activities, and contribute back to the community. Through this, we nurture confident, responsible, and socially aware leaders.
We follow a simple but powerful model:
This ensures participants not only gain knowledge, but also:
Apply skills in real situations
Build confidence through experience
Contribute meaningfully to society
Inspire others to grow
Migrant workers play a vital role in Singapore’s development, yet many face social isolation and limited access to growth opportunities.
Migrant Connect SG exists to bridge this gap—by providing platforms for:
Learning
Contribution
Recognition
Integration

I have developed and implemented a structured approach to strengthen the community through life-saving training, practical engagement, and continuous personal development. My objective is to build a skilled, confident, and socially responsible community that is prepared to contribute meaningfully to society.
I actively collaborate with organizations such as the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Singapore Red Cross to organize structured training programmes. These include Basic First Aid (awareness), CPR & AED, Fire Safety and Evacuation, Emergency Response, and Workplace Injury Prevention and Management, as well as certified courses such as Standard First Aid + AED, Psychological First Aid, and Befriending Skills. These programmes equip participants with essential knowledge, practical skills, and the confidence to respond effectively during emergencies.
Beyond training, I focus strongly on real-world application. I stay closely connected with our members by motivating and guiding them through community platforms, including virtual channels, regular online meetings, face-to-face sessions, and social platforms. This continuous engagement helps maintain momentum, reinforces learning, and builds a strong support network within the community.
Participants are consistently encouraged and supported to take part in volunteer programmes, particularly in first aid response roles. For example, through platforms created by the Singapore Red Cross, members have opportunities to serve as first aid volunteers. These roles allow them to attend to real incidents and casualties, applying their training in actual situations. This creates a complete development cycle — from learning, to practice, to real-life contribution, building both competence and confidence.
In parallel, I emphasize soft skills and personal development to support long-term growth and integration. This includes career coaching for newcomers, basic English and communication programmes, and digital literacy training such as basic computer skills and MS Office. These initiatives help individuals improve their employability, confidence, and ability to adapt to the workplace and society.
Through this combined approach, I am contributing to the development of a community that is not only socially connected but also prepared, resilient, and capable of responding in times of need. It promotes public safety awareness while fostering a culture of responsibility, continuous learning, and mutual support.
Much of this work is carried out during my personal time, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Despite these commitments, I remain dedicated to this mission because I believe in giving back to society, supporting others, and creating a lasting positive impact for future generations.
This is more than voluntary work — it is a long-term commitment to building a stronger, safer, and more inclusive community.
Every donor here, every volunteer, every supporter.
Every drop of blood is a gift of life. My name is Syed, and I’m from Migrant Connect SG—a volunteer-driven community that supports migrant workers through blood donation drives, training opportunities, and community engagement.
We organize blood donation drives every six months, bringing people together for this life-saving mission.
Today, we celebrate something truly powerful—not just this blood donation drive, but a community choosing compassion, unity, and humanity.
As part of our journey, and in appreciation of our efforts during the 2024–2025 campaign, Migrant Connect SG was honoured to be invited to the 80th Anniversary Celebration of the National Blood Programme, held at the National Cancer Centre Singapore on 15 April 2026.
We are proud that Mr. Ong Ye Kung, the Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. This recognition motivates us to continue doing more for the community.
Over the past weeks, many of you have stepped forward—volunteering your time, supporting one another, and encouraging others to be part of something meaningful.
Every donor here, every volunteer, every supporter—you are making a real difference. One donation saves lives. One act of kindness inspires many more.
This is not just an event. This is a movement. A reminder that when we stand together, we are stronger.
And before we end, remember this: Somewhere, someone you may never meet is counting on this moment. Because of you, they will live, they will smile, and they will have another tomorrow.
So let today not just be a day of giving, but a day of hope, humanity, and second chances.
Thank you all for being here and for helping us save lives.

Conclusion
This annex reflects our consistent effort to contribute to Singapore beyond employment. Through structured programmes, partnerships, and leadership, I have worked to build a safer, more informed, and more connected community.
A summary of how I normally contribute my time and effort in supporting each Blood Donation Drive organised under Migrant Connect SG. My involvement mainly focuses on community outreach, donor engagement, volunteer coordination, event-day operations, and post-event follow-up.
Typically, around two months before each blood donation drive, I begin the awareness campaign by sharing information across community WhatsApp groups and social media platforms. During this preparation period, I usually spend time in the evenings, especially between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM, as this is my free time after working hours and also the most effective period to engage the community. Many foreign workers are using their mobile phones during this time after dinner and at the end of their workday. During these hours, I respond to enquiries, answer donor questions, and encourage participation. As Facebook often restricts promotional posts related to blood donation campaigns, additional effort is required through alternative outreach channels.
I also personally follow up with individuals who have shown interest in donating blood. This includes contacting them, keeping them motivated, checking whether their registrations (our internal records) have been completed correctly, assisting with corrections where necessary, and sending reminders closer to the event date.
In addition, I coordinate volunteers who support the event. This includes recruiting helpers, assigning responsibilities, and conducting virtual briefing or training sessions. Normally, I organise at least two online briefing sessions of approximately 45 minutes each for every event to ensure volunteers understand the procedures and are prepared to assist donors effectively.
On the actual event day, I provide full-day on-site support at the Blood Bank. My role includes welcoming donors, helping with form filling, guiding first-time donors, maintaining a positive environment, ensuring volunteers remain active, following event protocols, and helping the donation process run smoothly throughout the day.
After the event, I continue supporting by taking and organising photographs, sharing appreciation messages, preparing social media posts to encourage future participation, and updating the website with event summaries, photos, and properly organised records for transparency and future reference.

SAYEED ASIA ROBIN || SOCIAL RESPONSIVENESS
Good day everyone, thank you for being here today.
I feel proud—not just of what we have built, but of who we are becoming together.
My journey started when I first arrived in Singapore in 2008.
Like many migrants, the beginning was not easy. Everything felt unfamiliar—the systems, the culture, even simple things like where to find reliable information. I felt confused, overwhelmed, and at times, alone.
I explored different community groups, hoping to find guidance. But many lacked structure, clear support, or accessibility. Some required high membership fees, which were not affordable for new workers. While some NGOs provided support, it was often limited to specific situations.
What was missing was something simple but powerful:
👉 A safe space where migrants could ask questions, learn, connect, and support one another—freely and without judgment.
So I asked myself:
If this space doesn’t exist, why not build it ourselves?
Together with friends and newly arrived migrants from different countries, we started a small initiative called Migrant Welfare.
Our goal was simple:
👉 Free support, free information, and real human connection.
Since 2010, this effort continued. In 2014, it evolved into Migrant Matters, and today, it has grown into Migrant Connect SG.
We did not grow as an NGO.
We grew as a community.
And that difference matters.
NGOs provide structured services.
But communities are built on care, trust, and shared responsibility.
Here, we don’t just receive support—we support each other, grow together, and give back together.
At Migrant Connect SG, our approach is simple but powerful:
We focus on building real capabilities, not just organising activities.
I have developed a structured approach to strengthen the community through:
Life-saving training
Practical engagement
Continuous personal development
We actively collaborate with organizations such as the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Singapore Red Cross to deliver programmes including:
First Aid & CPR-AED
Fire Safety & Emergency Response
Workplace Injury Prevention
Psychological First Aid & Befriending Skills
But training alone is not enough.
We ensure real-world application:
Members stay connected through online and physical platforms
Continuous engagement builds confidence and discipline
Participants are encouraged to volunteer and apply their skills in real situations
This creates a full development cycle:
👉 Learning → Practice → Real Contribution
At the same time, we support:
English and communication skills
Digital and computer literacy
Career guidance for newcomers
Because true empowerment is not just safety—it is confidence, adaptability, and growth.
Today, Migrant Connect SG delivers meaningful, community-led impact:
🎓 190+ learners supported through education and digital training
🚑 Life-saving training programmes with strong participation and certification outcomes
🩸 72 blood donations, contributing directly to national healthcare
⚽ Sports, cultural events, and volunteering, building social connection
🎉 300+ participants across community gatherings and engagement events
🌱 Leadership development, empowering members to step forward and lead
These are not just numbers.
They represent:
👉 Confidence
👉 Skills
👉 Dignity
👉 Belonging
On 1 January 2026, we held our Annual Gathering & BBQ.
It was a day full of joy—games, music, food, and laughter.
But more importantly, it reminded us of something powerful:
👉 When people feel safe, valued, and welcomed, community grows naturally.
Our community is not only about activities—it is about values.
We share simple but important lessons:
Stay positive—your attitude shapes your environment
Take care of your health—your well-being supports your future
Communicate early—honesty builds trust
Keep improving your skills—growth creates opportunity
Respect the laws of Singapore—your future depends on it
Avoid harmful habits—face challenges with clarity
Support one another—strong communities protect individuals
These lessons help build not just better workers—but responsible and confident individuals.
We are migrants—and we are the pride of our families.
We left home with responsibility.
We work hard, support our loved ones, and contribute to Singapore’s growth.
And today, our vision is bigger:
👉 Not just to work—but to grow, contribute, and give back.
This journey is not about me.
It is about all of us.
Many of our programmes run because volunteers give their time, energy, and even personal resources. That spirit is what makes this community strong.
My greatest hope is this:
👉 That Migrant Connect SG continues beyond any one person
👉 That more leaders rise from within the community
👉 That migrants support migrants—and connect with locals—to build a stronger society together
Maybe the next leader is already here today.
Together, we are building a community that is:
Skilled
Responsible
Connected
Resilient
A community that contributes not only to Singapore—but to the world beyond.
Thank you for believing.
Thank you for contributing.
And thank you for walking this journey together.
